WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington freshman Laura Hostetler (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for women's lacrosse, the league office announced Monday. It marks her third A-10 weekly honor. She also was recognized by the Conference on Mar. 2 and Mar. 22.

The 5-10 midfielder from Ellicott City, MD, broke a pair of school records with six goals and 10 points in GW's 25-7 rout of visiting Howard Mar. 26 at Mount Vernon Field. Her six goals were one more than the previous record held by Heidi Mayer who scored five goals against Stony Brook Mar. 17, 2003. Hostetler's 10 points shattered the previous mark of six shared by three Colonials, most recently by Mayer on Mar. 29, 2003.

Hostetler also scored three goals on seven shots in GW's 14-6 loss at George Mason Mar. 24.

Hostetler's stats for the week: two games, nine goals, four assists, 13 points, 16 shots, .562 shot percentage, 14 shots on goal, .875 SOG percentage and one caused turnover.

Hostetler leads the Colonials in points with 32, goals with 21 and is tied for the team lead in assists with 11 through the first eight games of her collegiate career.

GW (3-5, 0-0 A-10) hosts Richmond (4-4, 1-0 A-10) this Friday in the Atlantic 10 opener beginning at 3:30 p.m. at GW's Mount Vernon Field in northwest Washington.
