PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington women's lacrosse freshman midfielder Sarah Phillips was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Monday after pacing the second-place Colonials in scoring this past weekend.

Phillips totaled nine points on five goals and four assists as GW split road contests at Temple and Massachusetts.

She set a career-high with five points on two goals and three assists and added three ground balls in the Colonials' convincing 9-4 victory over the Owls Friday. She followed that performance with a team-leading three goals and four points in Sunday's clash with the league-leading Minutewomen.

Phillips ranks second on GW with 24 points and 10 assists and has scored at least two points in six of her last seven games.

GW (4-9, 3-1 A-10) hosts Richmond at Mount Vernon Field Friday at 3:30 pm and can clinch a berth in the 2009 A-10 Championship with a victory over the Spiders.
