Garman Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

April 12, 2005

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Freshman Caitlin Garman was selected as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, April 11. It is the first league award for a Colonial women's lacrosse player this season.

Garman played in two of GW's three matches last week and was credited with the win in both. She made her second career start against St. Bonaventure on April 8 and made a career-high seven saves in the Colonials' 9-8 triumph. Garman played the second half versus Longwood on April 6 and stopped four shots in final period to help GW earn an 11-10 victory.

Garman leads the Colonials with a 6-1 record and she has played more than 313 minutes in net so far this year. She owns a 6.50 goals-against average, the best mark in the Atlantic 10. She also has a .485 save percentage and has made 32 saves on the year.
