Kristin Karcsh Garners A-10 Women's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week Award

April 16, 2007

PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington junior women's lacrosse player Kristin Karcsh was chosen Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Karcsh totaled 10 points in GW's conference road victories at La Salle and Temple to become the sixth player in women's lacrosse program history to reach the career 100-point plateau. Karcsh scored a career-high nine points on five goals and four assists in a 20-10 victory at La Salle on Friday, helping the Colonials amass the second-most goals in a single-game in team history. On Sunday, Karcsh upped her point-scored streak to 12 games with a goal in GW's 7-6 win at Temple, a triumph that moved the Colonials into a second-place tie in the Atlantic 10 standings.

Karcsh, who split the award with St. Bonaventure's Eboni Preston, leads GW with a single-season career-best 32 goals and 12 assists and ranks in the Top 6 in the A-10 in goals, assists and points.

GW (7-5, 3-1 A-10) has claimed at least a share of three of the seven A-10 Player of the Week awards this season. Junior Katelyn Honeyford split the award with Temple's Alison Frengs on April 9 and sophomore Katherine Sampson picked up the honor on March 19.

GW will step aside from A-10 play for a non-conference clash at No. 9 Georgetown on Friday, April 20, at 3:45 pm.
