Donohue Chosen A-10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

April 23, 2007

PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington women's lacrosse freshman Taylor Donohue was chosen Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Donohue set career-high's with four goals and five points as GW topped Saint Joseph's, 9-1, on Sunday to remain in a second-place tie in the league standings with Richmond. Donohue leads all Colonials' rookies and is tied for fourth on the team with 15 goals and is tied for second in the league with three game-winning goals.

Donohue is the first GW freshman to receive the league's Rookie of the Week award since Caitlin Garman won it three consecutive times during the 2005 season.

GW (8-6, 4-1 A-10) has reeled off four straight conference wins for the first time in program history and can clinch its second-ever A-10 Tournament berth with a victory against Duquesne on Friday. Opening draw is slated for 3:30 pm.
