Lacrosse Wraps Up Regular Season at Saint Joseph’s

OPENING DRAW: The George Washington lacrosse team wraps up the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia to take on Atlantic 10 rival Saint Joseph’s at 1 p.m. at Sweeney Field.

LAST TIME OUT: Senior Michaela Lynch scored three goals and added two assists to match her career-high of five points to lead GW to a 9-7 victory over Duquesne on Sunday afternoon at the GW Lacrosse Filed on the Mount Vernon Campus. Along with Lynch, senior Cassidy Shollenberger tallied three points (2g, 1a), freshman Caroline Kiernan recorded one goal and one assist, and senior Shea Cassidy and juniors Jocelyn Donohue and Brooke Sands all scored one apiece.

IN THE CREASE: Junior keeper Adele Wise registered double-digit saves for the second game in a row on Sunday, finishing with a season-high matching 12 against the Dukes after stopping 12 against Massachusetts as well on Friday. The Leonardtown, Maryland native averages 8.53 saves per game, a mark that ranks seventh in the conference.

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH’S: Paced by sophomore midfielder Rebecca Lane’s eight points and freshman midfielder Julia Pash’s season-high six goals, Saint Joseph’s cruised past St. Bonaventure, 22-14, on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Hawks, who have won five of their last six games, improve to 10-6 overall, 6-2 in the A-10.



SERIES HISTORY: The Colonials were edged by the Hawks, 14-12, last season. GW outshot Saint Joseph’s, 29-27, and held a 19-14 advantage in ground balls.
