April 29, 2010
WASHINGTON - Kelsey Honeyford was named the women's lacrosse team's Most Valuable Player at George Washington University's annual Senior Honors Luncheon on the GW campus Thursday.
Three years after her sister Katelyn was named team MVP, senior Kelsey Honeyford is the 2010 women's lacrosse Most Valuable Player. The Colonials' top one-on-one defender, Kelsey earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors by consistently holding some of the Atlantic 10's top scorers in check. She finished the season tied for second on the team in caused turnovers and fourth in ground balls. Kelsey started the final 51 games of her career, finishing 11th all-time at GW in ground balls and 12th in caused turnovers. Just as consistent in the classroom, Kelsey has been named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll five semesters and earned Academic Honor Roll recognition from the IWLCA in 2009.
