WASHINGTON, DC - Former George Washington women's lacrosse defender Alaska Burr `09 has been chosen to participate in the 2009 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, June 13th.
Burr, who will play for the South team, is the third Colonial in as many years to earn a spot at the Senior All-Star Game, which will take place at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA, as part of the Brine All-American Lacrosse Showcase. Molly Gannon '07 and Caitlin Garman '08 also suited up for the South at the annual event which showcases the nation's top seniors.
Burr received First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors this season after helping GW qualify for the A-10 Championship for the second time during her four-year career. She started all 17 games this spring, finishing second on the team with 23 caused turnovers and fourth on the team with 30 ground balls. She ranks 10th all-time at GW with 41 career caused turnovers.
Opening draw for the Division I North-South Senior All-Star Game is set for 12:00 pm.
