GW's Laura Hostetler Named To WomensLacrosse.com Division I Rookie Team

June 2, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington freshman Laura Hostetler (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) has been named to the All-America Division I Rookie Team by WomensLacrosse.com, an on-line service devoted to the sport of women's lacrosse.

Hostetler, the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year for women's lacrosse, earned an A-10 record six Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards and established four school records in her first collegiate season.

She twice set a single-game record for goals with six against Howard University on Mar. 26 and broke that mark with seven against Mount St. Mary's on April 25. She also holds the single-season records for goals (45), points (62) and shares the assists record of 17 with Heisler. Hostetler appeared in all 17 games and scored goals in all but two.

GW completed its third season as a varsity program with a final record of 8-9. The Colonials placed fifth in the eight-team Atlantic 10 Conference with a 3-4 mark.
