Garman to Play in North-South Senior All-Star Game
June 12, 2008
WASHINGTON, DC - Former George Washington women's lacrosse player Caitlin Garman '08 will participate in the 2008 IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA, this Saturday, June 14. Garman will split the South squad's goalkeeping duties with Mount St. Mary's Jane Karger in the annual senior showcase, which is part of the IWLCA Champions' Cup. Garman joins Richmond's Claire Cunniff and Temple's Nicole Caniglia, Hillary Richards and Berkley Summerlin among the Atlantic 10 Conference's representatives. Garman is the second GW player in as many years to participate in the North-South Senior game following Molly Gannon in 2007. GW's career saves leader, Garman is the first three-time All-Academic Team selection in the seven-year women's lacrosse program's history. A communication major and two-time CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II pick, Garman finished third in the A-10 with a .464 save percentage and fourth in the league with 149 saves this past season. She finished her four-year career with a school-record 493 saves and 30 victories. GW closed its season with wins over previous league unbeaten Richmond and Saint Joseph's to narrowly miss qualifying for the A-10 Championship for the second year-in-a-row. The Colonials finished 5-11 overall, 3-4 in the Atlantic 10, with nine of the team's 11 losses coming by four goals or less, including four one-goal losses.
