GW Women's Lacrosse Adds 12 Newcomers for 2012

WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's lacrosse program has added 12 incoming freshmen student-athletes for the 2012 season, highlighted by two-time US Lacrosse First Team All-American Addi Bolin.
"I'm thrilled to announce this freshmen class, one that brings a tremendous amount of speed and athleticism to our team. I anticipate this group to challenge our upperclassman and I'm excited about their future here at GW," said head coach Tara Hannaford.
"Each of these student-athletes brings a different skill set," added Coach Hannaford. "I expect Addi Bolin and Maddie Wilson to strengthen our attack as both have great scoring ability. Allie Rash, Rachel Mia and Kati Peditto add speed and versatility to our midfield, while Jacqui Stevens, Rachel Quinn and Jenn Seitz will make our defensive unit stronger. Additionally, Mackenzie Jones adds a different dimension to our goalie position."
The new recruits include:
Addi, a 2010 and 2011 US Lacrosse First Team All-American, totaled 435 goals and 113 assists during five scholastic seasons, leading St. Anne's-Belfield School in scoring each year. She was a three-time All-Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA) performer and the 2009 and 2011 VISAA State Player of the Year. She helped St. Anne's-Belfield School to three consecutive VISAA Division II state titles from 2009-11, and was a five-time First Team All-Central Virginia and All-LIS Conference selection. Addi also was a three-time all-conference selection in basketball who helped St. Anne's-Belfield to three conference championships and two Virginia state final four appearances.
Addison Blair Bolin was born Jan. 9, 1993, in Newport Beach, Calif. She is the daughter of Scott and Kimm Bolin and has an older brother, Tyler, and younger brother, Scottie. Her grandfather, Jack, played football at the University of Kansas. Addi intends to major in business at GW.
Jamie totaled 123 goals and 45 assists in three scholastic seasons at Gwynedd Mercy Academy. She was a two-time Athletic Association of Catholic Academies (AACA) selection and was also an All-AACA performer and two-time District qualifier on the Monarchs' golf team.
Jamie (Lee) Bumgardner was born April 11, 1993, in Sellersville, Pa. She is the daughter of James and Sandra Bumgardner and has an older brother, Jeffrey, and older sister, Cara. She intends to major in exercise science at GW.
Nicole was a First Team All-West Bay Athletic League (WBAL) Foothill Division selection in 2009 and 2011 and Second Team All-WBAL Foothill Division pick in 2008 and 2010. She was named a 2010 US Lacrosse Academic All-American and twice served as team captain for Burlingame High. She also played for the Panthers' water polo team.
Nicole Leigh Carlton was born Aug. 16, 1993, in San Mateo, Calif. She is the daughter of Bruce and Linda Carlton and has an older brother, Thomas. She intends to major in business at GW.
Casey earned All-Independent School League (ISL) honors and her team's Coaches Award as the leading scorer for Holy Child School in 2011. She helped the Tigers to ISL league and tournament titles as a senior this spring, as well as a tournament title in 2009.
Casey Ann Marie Dell'Isola was born Aug. 10, 1993, in Arlington, Va. She is the daughter of Paul and Miriam Dell'Isola and has three brothers, John, Paul and David, and two sisters, Dani and Elena. She intends to major in biology.
Mackenzie was rated 12th on ESPN Rise's Top 20 Goalkeepers on the Rise in 2010. She played goalkeeper for the Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers during her scholastic career, as well as two years for Chesapeake Club Lacrosse from 2010-11 and participated on the Under Armour All-American Baltimore Team in 2010.
Mackenzie Taylor Jones was born Aug. 3, 1993, in Pasadena, Md. She is the daughter of Paul Lipinski and Kristin Wingate and has two younger brothers, Bennett and Walker, and a younger sister, Sydney. She intends to major in international affairs.
Rachel was a two-time Second Team All-Anne Arundel County selection in 2010 and 2011 who also helped Severna Park to Maryland State 4A/3A Championships in 2009 and 2011. She participated on the 2010 Under Armour Underclassmen Tournament D.C. Team and also helped the Falcons to a District title in 2010. Severna Park was ranked No. 17 and No. 29 in the final ESPNHS Fab 50 rankings in Rachel's junior and senior seasons, respectively.
Rachel Allyse Mia was born Sept. 5, 1993, in Baltimore, Md. She is the daughter of Reynaldo and Marcia Mia and has a younger brother, Ben. She intends to study pre-med at GW.
Kati totaled 18 goals and two assists to earn All-Capital Area Lacrosse League honors in 2011. The three-time Anne Arundel County Scholar-Athlete and Indian Creek's Scholar-Athlete of the Year served as captain of the Eagles' soccer, lacrosse and track teams. Kati was also a Maryland 4A regional finalist in the 55-meter and 200-meter dash.
Kathryn Sandra Peditto was born Sept. 19, 1993, in Annapolis, Md. She is the daughter of Paul and Stephanie Peditto and has a younger brother, Nick. She intends to major in systems engineering at GW.
Rachel helped Notre Dame Prep to three straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) `A' Conference semifinal appearances from 2009-11. Notre Dame finished the 2011 season ranked No. 20 on ESPNHS Fab 50 rankings after a No. 10 final ranking in 2010. She was also a two-time IAAM `B' Conference All-Star on the Blazers' basketball team.
Rachel Elizabeth Quinn was born Oct. 12, 1993, in Baltimore, Md. She is the daughter of John and Kimberly Quinn and has four older siblings, Erin, Joe, Zach and Maggie, and a younger brother, Colin. Her sister Erin lettered in lacrosse for four seasons at University of Scranton. Rachel intends to major in biomedical engineering at GW.
Allie totaled 88 goals, 37 assists, 96 caused turnovers, 78 ground balls and 115 draws during her four-year scholastic career at Battlefield High. The two-time All-District and All-Region selection helped the Bobcats to regular-season District and Regional championships as a senior.
Allison Leigh Rash was born Aug. 19, 1993, in Manassas, Va. She is the daughter of Lee Rash and Melinda Rash-Gehres and has two older sisters, Krystyn and Lauren. Her mother, Melinda, played field hockey and lacrosse at Longwood University.
Jenn earned Second Team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) honors while helping Good Counsel to the WCAC title as both a senior in 2011 and junior in 2010. The Falcons posted back-to-back final No. 6 rankings on the ESPNHS Fab 50 list in 2010 and 2011, and Seitz also received honorable mention honors from The Gazette as a senior.
Jennifer Marianne Seitz was born Jan. 29, 1993, in Baltimore, Md. She is the daughter of Jeff and Darlene Seitz and has a younger sister, Katherine. She intends to major in business at GW and aspires to attend law school to become a corporate lawyer.
A four-year varsity starter, Jacqui twice earned All-Prep honors and was named All-Mercer County by The Trentonian as a senior in 2011. She totaled 31 goals and 25 assists and led Princeton Day School in caused turnovers and ground balls as the Panthers reached the NJISSA Prep A semifinals. She was also a four-year starter for Princeton Day School's soccer team and earned First Team All-Prep accolades in 2011.
Jacqueline Pauline Stevens was born May 20, 1993, in Trenton, N.J. She is the daughter of Jon and Meredith Stevens and has an older sister, Nicole, and younger sister, Danielle.
Maddie totaled 144 goals in three scholastic seasons at Pearl River High, including a school-record 69 goals along with 34 assists as a senior this spring. She was named 2011 Westchester Journal News Player of the Year while leading the Pirates to league, sectional and regional titles and a New York State semifinal appearance. She was a two-time All-Section performer and earned All-League honors in both lacrosse and soccer in 2011.
Madeline Rae Wilson was born July 7, 1993, in New York, N.Y. She is the daughter of Bob and Barbara Wilson and has an older brother, Alex, and younger sister, Anna.
