2018 Schedule

WASHINGTON -- The George Washington lacrosse team will host eight opponents in 2018 and face nine more on the road during a 17-match schedule this spring, fourth-year head coach Tracy Coyne announced on Wednesday.

"We are approaching the 2018 season with both excitement and determination," said Coyne. "Our non-conference schedule is very challenging so it will be great preparation for the A-10 segment of the schedule. We've added a few new schools so it will be fun to compete against those programs."

GW opens its 2018 campaign on Feb. 10 with a trip to Greenville, North Carolina, to face East Carolina University in the Pirates' first game of their inaugural season. The Colonials will then open their home slate on Feb. 17 to host the Longwood Lancers.

The Buff and Blue hit the road once again on Feb. 24 to take on Monmouth in West Long Branch, New Jersey, before heading to Moon Township, Pennsylvania, one week later to play Robert Morris on March 3.

The lacrosse squad will then play host to Bucknell on March 10 before heading cross-town to take on local rival American on March 14. The Colonials conclude their non-conference schedule with bouts against Mount St. Mary's (March 17) and Radford (March 20).

GW opens Atlantic 10 action by welcoming Revolutionary Rival George Mason to the GW Lacrosse Field on March 28. The squad will then make the trip up to St. Bonaventure for a clash on March 31.

The Buff and Blue will also host La Salle (April 6), Massachusetts (April 15), Saint Joseph's (April 20), and Davidson (April 28), and will travel to Richmond (April 8), VCU (April 13), and Duquesne (April 22).

"The fall ball season went very well," said Coyne. "The team is young - out of 26 players we have 21 underclassmen so we intentionally played a tougher Fall Ball schedule. This exposed both our strengths and weaknesses. We plan to attack those areas at the first practice in January. The success we had in the fall gives us confidence that if we continue to work hard, be resilient and play together we can achieve our goal of competing in the A10 tournament. The team is ready. We can't wait to start practicing again."
