MERCER, N.J. -- The George Washington women's rowing team completed a successful day in its Knecht Cup debut on Saturday as both the varsity 8 and JV 8 boats advanced in their respective races.

After finishing first (6:51.12) in the preliminary race, the varsity 8 boat went on to compete in the grand final and posted a 6:49.14 time to take seventh place against a field of top-ranked teams. The JV 8 also had a strong day and made it to the grand final, finishing the day in fifth-place (6:54.82).

CARCICH'S COMMENTS: "Big thanks to Jack St. Clair for a great regatta with excellent cross conference racing in a consolidated racing format," said head coach Eric Carcich. We need to go home and continue getting better and take advantage of each day as we progress towards out A-10 championships. I'm excited to get back on the water on Monday."
