Women's Rowing Falls to Georgetown in Class of 1998 Cup

WASHINGTON, DC - Battling a light head wind, the George Washington women's rowing team fell to Georgetown in the Class of 1998 Cup Sunday on the Potomac River. The Colonials were victorious however in the Varsity Four and Novice 8. The victorious Four crew took its race in 7:32.09, nearly 19 seconds faster than Georgetown. GW doubled out of the novice 8, taking first and third in times of 7:03.77 and 7:10.34, respectively. The Hoyas were second in 7:06.21. The Novice Four did not fare as well, finishing 13 seconds behind Georgetown in 8:12.7. Women's Rowing concludes its 2008 spring season at the EAWRC Sprints in Camden, NJ on May 18. The Colonials finished 16th at last year's sprints.
