Boston, MA - The George Washington women's rowing team traveled to Boston, MA over the weekend to compete in the 42nd Annual Head of the Charles Regatta, featuring many of the top crews from across the country. The regatta attracted over 7,500 athletes who competed on the three-mile course. GW's women placed 35th out of 46 boats in the championship eights event on Sunday, a position that Coach McCracken was not to pleased about.

"I'm disappointed with the results from the weekend. We had a great starting position, fast crews around us, and great water. Unfortunately, we were unable to put together a complete race," said McCracken. Despite the finish, the Colonials were able to finish ahead of some talented competition, including defending Atlantic 10 Champion, Massachusetts, and fellow conference member, Fordham. GW also finished ahead of cross-town rival Georgetown.

Despite the outcome, much can be learned from the weekend, "I'm confident we will learn and grow from this experience over the coming weeks and months," finished McCracken.

The Colonials will be back in action next Sunday, October 29 in Princeton, NJ to compete in the Princeton Chase.
