Women's Rowing Takes 25th-Place at Head of Charles Regatta

BOSTON, MA - The George Washington University Women's Rowing team continued their fall racing schedule at the massive Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, MA on Sunday afternoon. The racing conditions on the Charles were beautiful with flat water, as the Colonials raced in the Championship Eights Women Event and finished in 25th-place out of 30 crews. GW completed the three-mile course in 17:23.62. GW Lineup, Championship Eights "It was great to race in the historic Head of Charles event on Sunday. The Championship Eight event boasts some of the fastest crews in the country. It was great to line up against them", said head coach Eric Carcich. The Championship Eight Event was won by Princeton University who finished the course in 15:48.31. "Many lessons were learned this weekend. We are excited to get back to work on the water on Tuesday morning."
The GW Men's Rowing team raced in the Championship Eights Men Event and finished in 29th-place out of 35 competing crews, finishing in 15:17.29. The Colonials will return to action on Saturday at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, NJ. |
