April 14, 2011
Atlantic 10 Championships Schedule WASHINGTON, DC- The George Washington women's rowing team will travel to Pennsauken, NJ to race in the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships on the Cooper River on Saturday afternoon. "We are very excited to head north to New Jersey for the Atlantic 10 Championships" said head coach Eric Carcich. "We have packed in some quality racing over the last three weeks and we are excited to see where we are right now in the scope of the A-10s". Last weekend the Colonials competed in the 24th Annual George Washington Invitational Regatta/Potomac Challenge Cup and rowed stroke-for-stroke with Navy on Sunday in the varsity eight before being edged by 1.1 seconds in the second-closest race of the weekend. The Colonials are entered in four events, the varsity 8, second varsity 8, varsity 4 and varsity 4B. "I can say without a doubt that racing is going to be tight and tough this year with what looks to be a very strong varsity field" said Carcich. The 2011 Championship begins at 8:00 am with trials of the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 events on the Cooper River. Finals will commence at approximately 11:20 am with the awards ceremony scheduled for 1:40 pm. George Washington Lineup - 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships
