Women's Rowing Back on Occoquan for Mason Invitational

ON THE LINE: The George Washington women's rowing team returns to the Occoquan River to compete in the George Mason Invitational on Sunday. Racing will take place in two sessions, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

FORMAT: The George Mason Invitational pits three conferences - Atlantic 10, CAA and Big 12 - against each other. The morning session will feature a series of conference racing. The fastest representative will then advance to the afternoon session to go up against the other two conference's top finishers.

Atlantic 10: GW, George Mason, Dayton
CAA: Delaware, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan
Big 12: West Virginia, Kansas, Old Dominion

9:00 a.m.: Varsity 8 Heat 1
9:30 a.m.: JV8 Heat 1
10:00 a.m.: Varsity 4 Heat 1
10:40 a.m.: 3rd Varsity 8 Heat 2
11:00 a.m.: 2nd Varsity 4 Heat 2

LAST TIME OUT: GW went undefeated on the Occoquan River last weekend to take home both the George's Cup (vs. GMU, Georgetown) and Class of 1998 Cup (vs. Georgetown). It marks the second consecutive year, and third time overall, that the Colonials have swept all races at the event en route to both titles.

TAKE ME TO THE RIVER: Sunday marks the third time this spring, and fourth time this calendar year, that GW is in action on the Occoquan River.
