GW Women's Rowing's Pickus Named to A-10 All-Academic Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington women's rowing senior Sarah Pickus has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.

Pickus, who graduated on May 18 with a degree in biomedical engineering, is a four-year member of the Colonials' Varsity 8 boat and boasts a 3.79 cumulative GPA.

Thursday's selection marks her second career appearance on the A-10 All-Academic team after also earning the accolade in 2013. She was also recently named to the A-10 All-Conference Second Team following the conclusion of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship.

Academically, Pickus is a five-time selection to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and a four-time member of the GW Department of Athletics and Recreation Dean's List.

On the water, the Las Vegas native has helped the Colonials' Varsity 8 boat to a number of notable wins during her career, including the 2013 Atlantic 10 Varsity 8 Championship and victories in the George's Cup and Class of 1998 Cup as a sophomore and junior.
