Crotty Named CRCA First Team All-Region, Atlantic 10 All-Conference

WASHINGTON, DC - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) has announced that George Washington University senior Laura Crotty has been named to the Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.

Named Atlantic 10 First-Team All-Conference and the Colonials' Most Valuable Player in her final season at GW, the Rye, NH native has been a key member of the Varsity Eight the last three seasons. Her Varsity Eight crews have finished sixth and fifth in the Atlantic 10 the last two seasons, respectively.

"We're extremely proud of all Laura accomplished over her four years at GW," said head coach Rob McCracken. "Her work ethic and dedication have served as an example for others to follow. This is a tremendous honor and is certainly well deserved. We will definitely miss having Laura as a part of our team next year."

As a freshman, Crotty was a member of the gold medal winning Novice Eight at the Atlantic 10 Championships. That same crew went on to finish sixth at the Grand Final of the Eastern Sprints.

The women's rowing team wrapped up it's seaon May 18 at the Eastern Sprints which was highlighted by the Varsity Four, which took first in the 3rd Level Final and 13th overall.
