Eric Carcich Resigns as GW Women’s Rowing Head Coach

July 9, 2018

WASHINGTONEric Carcich has resigned as head coach of the George Washington women’s rowing program.

"Eric has been a leader, not only in his sport, but throughout our department,” said Director of Athletics and Recreation Tanya Vogel. “I’m grateful for his time spent here at GW helping us Raise High on the water. I am thrilled for Eric to take on this role at Cornell and excited to see what he can do in the Ivy League.”

A two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, Carcich transformed GW over the course of 10 seasons into a perennial challenger with four top three finishes in the last six years. This season, the Colonials posted record finishes at the Princeton Chase, the Murphy Cup, the Knecht Cup, and the Mason Invite en route to their second straight four-for-four medal performance and program-record 44 points at the A-10 Championship.

A search for GW’s next head women’s rowing coach will begin immediately.
