WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University Women's Rowing team will travel to Boston, MA this weekend to compete at the 43rd Annual Head of the Charles Regatta. One of the largest and most prestigious fall races in the country, the Head of the Charles will be host to over 7,500 athletes on the three-mile long course.

The GW lineup that consists of coxswain Katie Martin, Bonnie Scott, Angela Wunderli, Bess Austin, Allison Miedema, Liz Cavanaugh, Rhonda Crittle, Laura Crotty and Emily Geise will race in the championship eights event on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Head Coach Rob McCracken is optimistic for his team at this year's event. "The team consists of a strong group of rowers this year and we are excited to kick things off at the Head of the Charles. This is the first Head of the Charles for five members of the crew and only three were in the varsity eight last spring. If they row well and are aggressive down the course, then we should get some good results. I am looking forward to seeing how they perform against some of the best teams in the country."

Last year the Colonials finished 35th in the 46 boat event.
