EMMITSBURG, MD - Senior Misa Eiritz came off the bench for the Colonials in the first half to score off a free kick just to the right of the penalty area.

Eiritz's goal, in the 24th minute, caught a screen in front of the Mountaineer goalkeeper, hitting the back of the net in lower left corner.

George Washington women's soccer team improves to 2-1 on the season and takes the all-time series lead, 1-0, over Mount St. Mary's, which falls to 0-3.

Eiritz lead the Colonials with four shots, aiming three on goal, even though the Mountaineers out shot the Colonials 11-9. The Mount also earned more corner kicks, 7-5.

GW sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe stifled all six shots on goal the Mount took in the second half to earn her first shutout of the season.

The Colonials get a brief break from action with the start of the new school year. GW resumes action on the road, traveling across the District to take on Howard on Sunday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
