Newark, DE - Freshman Alex Neal scored in the 87th minute to seal GW's 2-1 victory over Blue Hen Classic host Delaware on Sunday afternoon. The Colonials (5-3-0) finish the week on a three game-win streak.

Neal scored off a rebound from a shot taken by Adriana Moya that Delaware goalkeeper Brenna Stempler could not wrap up.

"The team was able to go on the road, score five goals and get two very good wins," said head coach Tanya Vogel. "I was extremely impressed with their mentality, work rate and determination in the second half of this game."

The Blue Hens (4-4-0) tallied the first goal of the match in the first half when Melissa Pennington poked in a corner feed from teammate Andrea Luttio in the 34th minute.

Moya scored her second goal of the season and the tournament in the 57th minute as the Colonials executed a set play after being awarded the ball on Delaware's first of two yellow cards to put the game at a 1-1 tie.

Senior defender Jillian Morgan, as well as freshman Claire Haft, joined Moya and Neal on the Blue Hen Classic All-Tournament team. Haft and Moya scored in the win over Drexel on Friday night.

"We had talked about the importance of winning on Sundays," said Vogel. "They proved to themselves that, if they fight for it, they can win on Sundays."

The Colonials continued to pressure the ball taking 11 shots with eight on goal, while holding the Blue Hens to only six total shots during the game. Both squads also earned five corners.

The Colonials will wrap up the 2010 regular season at home on Friday, Sept. 24 as part of the Kickin' it at the Vern weekend. Kick off between the Colonials and the visiting Gardner-Webb Bulldogs is set for 4:00 p.m. at Mount Vernon Field.
