Women's Soccer Open A-10 Play with Scoreless Tie Against Xavier

CINCINNATI, OH - The George Washington women's soccer team played its fourth double overtime game in six matches Friday night as the team ended in a scoreless knot against Xavier University. GW midfielders Dara Rosen, Jillian Morgan and Ashley Starks led the attack with three shots each in the game. All three of Starks' shots came on goal. Colonials' goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe collected five saves, totaling 39 saves in nine games this season. The Colonials (3-3-3, 0-0-1) and the Musketeers (1-7-1, 0-0-1) both had seven shots on goal in the defensive battle to open the Atlantic 10 conference season. Together, 13 of the 22 starters logged over 100 minutes, with 11 playing all 110 minutes of the match. GW will next host the Dayton Flyers on Sept. 27, at Mount Vernon Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Also at the game, GW will be collecting old soccer gear and sneakers to recycle.
