WASHINGTON, DC-- The George Washington University women's soccer team fell to the University of Dayton Sunday afternoon, 4-0, at Mount Vernon Field.

Dayton (6-0-4 overall, 2-0 A-10) was quick to score, putting in the only first half goal 31 seconds into the game. UD's Lauren MacCormick timed a pass by Kelly Blumenschein just right to put past GW goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe.

Colonials' (3-4-3, 0-1-1) defenders senior Emily Gower and junior Michelle Aueron, both making key blocks, kept the pressure on the Flyers' forwards but Dayton was able to find the space to score.

Dayton went on to score three more goals in the second half, all by different players. UD also led GW with more shots (14-5), shots on goal (7-4), and corners (6-4).

The Colonials will continue at home to host Saint Joseph's on Friday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m. GW will then host Temple, Sunday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m.
