Late Goal Not Enough for Women's Soccer; Fall at SLU 2-1

ST. LOUIS, MO - Senior Dara Rosen posted her first goal of the season in the 82nd minute of the 2-1 loss to Saint Louis University, Friday evening in Atlantic 10 conference play. Rosen, scoring her seventh career goal, put a cross from Sierra Smidinger into the far post while Saint Louis' goalkeeper Amber Zdanovec was in the game. SLU's Zdanovec, logging the last 66 minutes of the game, and starter Hannah Perry kept the Colonials out of the goal most of the game. Together they collected six saves on 13 shots faced in the game. The Billikens (7-6-2, 4-2-1 A-10) got on the board in the 24th minute, scored by Maggie Baumann off a corner kick from Ashley Brazill. GW goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe held SLU from scoring again until the 79th minute, when Susan Fredrickson scored from 35 yards away on a free kick. Rowe collected seven saves on 16 shots by the Billikens. The Colonials (4-6-4, 1-3-2 A-10) continue on the road, traveling to face Charlotte on Sunday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
