ST. LOUIS, MO - The Saint Louis Billikens scored three times in the first half on senior goalkeeper Bridget Mahon and the Colonials' defense, as the GW women's soccer team was unable to mount a come back, losing 3-0 on Sunday. The Billikens improve to 3-8-5, 2-4-0 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Colonials fall to 9-5-0, 3-2-0.

The Colonials were last held scoreless in back-to-back games on the opening weekend of the 2010 season in road losses to Georgetown (3-0) and Robert Morris (1-0).

GW threatened to score first in the 12th minute, earning a corner play taken by senior Michelle Aueron. Sierra Smidinger got a touch but SLU goalkeeper Sarah Walsh wrapped up the header on the play.

Smidinger and sophomore Adriana Moya each had four shots in the game to lead the Colonials. Cara Cadigan took three shots, while Molly Bruh and Alex Neal each fired one.

SLU scored 25th minute when Emily Kryzer scored her first goal of the season on a pass from Jenny Hummert and came back to score in the 32nd minute on a shot by Ashley Brazill. The Billikens added a third goal in the 38th minute on a touch shot by Maddie Gerbauer at the goal line on a cross from the right side by Ashley Brazill and Jessie Jarrett.

The Colonials went into halftime behind the Billikens in shots, 8-6, and even in corner calls, 2-2. GW made a switch to senior Molly Jensen as goalkeeper for the second half. Jensen made three saves, as the GW defense worked to not allow SLU to score.
