La Salle Cruises Past Women's Soccer, 4-1

PHILADELPHIA, PA (Oct. 19) Junior Amy Schneider scored two goals and sophomore Krista Lee set a new school record with four assists to lead La Salle to a 4-1 victory over GW this after, Oct.19, at McCarthy Field in Philadelphia, PA. The loss drops the Colonials to 5-8 overall and to 2-4 in the Atlantic 10. The Explorers improved to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the Atlantic 10.

GW got on the board first at the 7:25 mark as sophomore Meggan Eckert (Scottsdale, AZ/Desert Mountain) sent a shot past La Salle keeper, Kaitlin Glass, for her second goal of the season.

The Explorers tied the match at the 34:35 mark when Schneider scored the first of her two goals on a cross from Lee. It would prove to be the beginning of the end for the Colonials.

Nine minutes into the second half Schneider and Lee connected again to give the Explorers a 2-1 lead. Five minutes later Lee and Schneider teamed up to find Colleen Farrell, who blasted a shot past GW keeper Christine O'Malley (Davis, CA/Davis Senior) to make it 3-1 in favor of La Salle. The Explorers added their fourth goal at the 69:08 mark as Lee notched her fourth assist of the match on a goal by Laura Murray.

The Colonials were unable to mount a sustained offensive attack as they were outshot 14-7 in the match. Redshirt sophomore Kim Warner (North York, Ontario, Canada/St. Joseph's) had three shots on goal for GW, while freshman Meghan Cracker (Lake Oswego, OR/Lakeridge) added two shots of her own to lead the Colonials.

GW will look to get back on the winning track as they travel to New York for a match at Fordham on Sunday, Oct. 21, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
