WASHINGTON, DC - Senior Brittany Eger headed the ball over Duquesne's goalkeeper for the win early in the second half on Senior Day Sunday at Mount Vernon Field to win 1-0 and extend the winning streak to two games.

Senior Misa Eiritz passed the ball to Sierra Smidinger into the near corner. Smidinger crossed the ball high for Eger to head in her fourth goal of the season.

The Colonials (6-7-4 overall, 3-4-2 A-10) posted 13 shots in the game. Smidinger led the team with three shots, while Eger and Cynthia Gamboa each fired two at the goal.

GW goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe corralled all three Duquesne (5-11, 2-7) shots on goal.

The Colonials move to ninth place in the A-10 standings with 11 points. GW will have to earn points in their final two games to have a chance to play in the Atlantic1t Tournament at Charlotte, NC, Nov. 5-8.

The Colonials round out the season on the road, playing at Massachusetts on Friday, Oct. 30, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. The team then travels to Rhode Island for a Sunday, Nov. 1 match up staring at 11:00 a.m.
