GW's Anna Handzlik Named Preseason Women's Soccer All-Conference

Senior Keeper Was Second in the A-10 Last Year in Saves-Per-Game

PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington University senior goalkeeper Anna Handzlik (Palos Verdes, CA / Palos Verdes Peninsula) was named to the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team, the conference announced earlier this week.

Handzlik started 16 of the Colonials' 19 games last season, allowing just 1.29 goals-per-game and averaging 5.94 saves-per-game (second in the A-10).

Dayton led the voting with four players named to the team while Rhode Island had three players chosen.

Charlotte and St. Louis, joining the conference this year, each had one player named to the squad.

The team was selected by the league's head coaches.

GW opens its season Aug. 26 at Navy and begins its home schedule two days later at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex against James Madison.
