WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's soccer team will host the UMBC Retrievers on Friday, Sept. 3, at 4:p.m. at Mount Vernon Field to kick off the home 2010 schedule.

Fans can drop by the GW Bookstore prior to the game to take advantage of the specials for certain Buff and Blue items, going along with nationwide College Colors Day. Also, fans and students can check into the GW Athletics Field at Mount Vernon Campus via Foursquare for a chance to win free GW gear at halftime of the game.

The Colonials (0-2-0) are coming off road losses to Georgetown and Robert Morris to open the non-conference season. While GW showed more firepower potential against RMU, the Colonials have been unable to put one in the goal.

GW has a 10-1-1 all-time record against UMBC (1-2-1). Last season, when the teams met up in Baltimore, the match ended in a double overtime 1-1 tie. Junior Taryn Dietrich scored the equalizer just seconds into the second half for the Colonials.

The women's soccer team returns to Mount Vernon Field on Sunday, Sept. 5 to take on Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
