Kim Warner Named A-10 Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week

Sept. 30, 2002

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington women's soccer star Kim Warner (North York, Ontario/St. Joseph's) received Co-Player of the Week honors, the Atlantic 10 announced today. Warner, a redshirt junior at GW, scored four goals to lead the Colonials over cross-town rival American at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex on September 25.

Utilizing her breakaway speed, Warner created one goal alone and was assisted on the other three. All four Colonials' goals came off of the foot of Warner who lead the team to a 4-2 victory. This was the fifth Colonials victory in the last six meetings with American.

With the four goals, Warner is now tied for fifth all-time in goals at GW with 21. She is tied with Colonials head coach Tanya Vogel who graduated from GW in 1996. Warner also moved into a ninth place tie in career points at 49 with Tanya's sister Jennifer Vogel. Warner now has eight goals on the season which is equal to her 2001 season total.
