Paolucci Named A-10 Women's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington women's soccer freshman Kelly Paolucci (Lanham, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) received Co-Rookie of the Week honors, the Atlantic 10 has announced. Paolucci, who has played in seven of the Colonials' 10 games, is becoming the regular goalkeeper and has started GW's last four matches.

This week's honor comes after leading the Colonials to two shutout wins at home at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex on October 4th and 6th. On Friday, Paolucci played all but the last 15 minutes of a 5-0 shutout of St. Bonaventure and made three saves. Sunday's match against Duquesne required eight saves in a close 2-0 battle. Paolucci now leads the Colonials with 44 saves this season.

Palucci has improved her season record to 3-3 and has led GW to a 2-1 record in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Starting six of her seven appearances, Paolucci has given up an average of 2.06 goals a match (13 goals allowed) in 567:47 minutes of play.
