WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington women's soccer star Kim Warner (North York, Ontario/St. Joseph's) received Co-Player of the Week honors the Atlantic 10 has announced. She shares this week's honor with Rhode Island's Heather Kasparek. This marks the second time that Warner has earned the honor this season. Warner, a redshirt junior, scored twice in two matches to bring her season's total to a league-leading 12 goals. Warner, who also recorded an assist, is ranked second in the conference with 26 points.
Warner's five-point weekend spearheaded George Washington's two wins on the road which kept the Colonials in playoff contention. On October 18th, Warner scored the opening goal and later added an assist in a 3-1 victory over Saint Joseph's. Two days later, Warner scored the game-winning goal against Temple in the 84th minute of a 1-0 shutout.
Averaging a league-leading 1.86 points per game, Warner has quickly moved up the Colonials' all-time records list this Fall. Starting the year in 20th place in points, Warner has moved up to fourth with 57. Warner, who has almost doubled her career goals total this season, is now in third place with 25 in her illustrious career.
