Amanda Nikolenko is in her first season as an assistant coach on the Colonials' head coach Kim Staehle's staff. Nikolenko was a 2008 graduate and four-year starter at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She finished her tenure atop the Roadrunners' all-time career record lists in innings (723), starts (107), wins (65), strikeouts (574) and complete games (73). In high school, she was named the 2003 Missouri Pitcher of the Year.

After leaving UTSA, Nikolenko traveled to France, playing in every inning for the French softball team in the European Cup in the summer of 2008, either in the circle, at third or at shortstop. The Ashland, Mo., native gained coaching experience from 2005-2008 as a pitchers and catchers coach with the Missouri Madness 18U softball team and as a private pitching and hitting instructor.
