A 2003 graduate of Louisiana State University (B.S. in Kinesiology), Peel was a four year starter for the Tigers, starting in 273 of 274 games in her career. She is also currently a member of the USA Elite team and was named 2002 SEC Player of the Year.

Peel has been a national team member since 2001 and was a member of the gold medal winning Canada Cup team in 2003. She was also a member of the 1999 Junior Olympic team that won silver in Taiwan.

While at LSU, Peel firmly entrenched her name in not only the LSU record book but also the NCAA's. She holds the school record for triples (27) and hit-by-pitches (28), ranks second in career on-base percentage (.403), walks (72) and stolen bases (79); third in games played (274), runs scored (173), home runs (19) and RBIs (144); fourth in at-bats (811) and doubles (45) and fifth in hits (269) and slugging percentage (.524). As for the NCAA, she ranks fourth in single-season triples (14) and is 13th in career triples.

During her senior season at LSU, Peel helped the Tigers to a 56-11 record by leading the team with a .361 batting average. She was named the SEC Athlete of the Year and was one of 25 quarterfinalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award. Not only did she lead the team in batting average for the season, she also led in hits, runs scored, total bases, slugging percentage, stolen bases and hit-by-pitches.

While a junior, Peel was named second team All-SEC and All-South Region. She was first on the team in slugging percentage at .571 and second on the team with a .337 batting average. She finished the season on a 12-game hitting streak and played very well in the field with only two errors and a .951 fielding average.

As a sophomore, Peel tallied 50 hits, including eight doubles, two triples and four homeruns, while driving in 26 and scoring 28 runs. She also saw some action on the mound during the year pitching 7.2 innnings, only giving up one hit and finising with a .91 ERA and five strikeouts.

Peel was named to the All-SEC first team as a freshman after a 74 hit season and finishing third on the team with a .356 batting average. She also drove in 37 runs while scoring 44 of her own and went 16-18 on stolen base attempts.

Prior to joining GW's staff, Peel was a student coach for the 2003 LSU Tigers, where she worked mainly with the outfielders. She has also spent the last three summers as an assistant coach for the American Softball Association, working with an 18-and-under team, the Colorado Pony Express, instructing the outfielders.
