WASHINGTON - The host George Washington Colonials softball team topped the Robert Morris Colonials, 2-1, at Mount Vernon Field on Saturday for its first win of 2012.

GW (1-8-1) will conclude the Colonial Classic with a pair of games on Sunday against Siena (9 a.m.) and Stony Brook (11 a.m.) at Mount Vernon Field.

On Saturday, GW took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with a double steal, which scored senior Lauren Wilson, who had led off the game with a walk.

One run is all the support senior pitcher Kara Clauss would need, as she picked up her first win of the season with seven innings of one-run ball. Klauss struck out two batters on the afternoon and allowed just four hits.

GW added a second run in the bottom of the third inning by way of the double steal.
