WASHINGTON, DC - Freshman starting pitcher Kara Clauss was one out away from posting her first GW no-hitter in the 2-0 win over Army, Saturday, in the final game of the Colonial Classic. With the win, the Colonials posted a 3-1 record for the weekend.

In the fourth inning, Katie Terrazas bunted her way on, sacrifice bunted up to second by Tori Sensi and scored on a double by Lauren Wilson for the first GW run of the game.

Clauss gave up a pinch-hit double with two outs in the top of the seventh inning before getting the next batter to ground out to end the game.

The Davie, Fla., native also helped herself at the plate in the victory, hitting her first GW and complete softball career home run to left field in the fifth inning.

The Colonials travel next to the University of Virginia for a double header on Mar. 10, to make up for the Mar. 1 game that was snowed out.
