WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington softball fell to Mount St. Mary's, 5-0, Tuesday in game one of a non-conference doubleheader at the Mount Vernon Softball Field.

This was the second game of the season where GW (8-19) batters were patient in the box, drawing five walks from opposing pitchers. The other instance of five walks was in game two against UMBC on Feb. 24. Junior Amanda Holst leads the team with 13, and drew two walks from The Mount's starting pitcher Jamie Fowler.

Amanda Gabriel threw a complete game in the loss, dropping to 4-10 on the season. Gabriel gave up nine hits, five earned runs, walked one and struck out 11 Mount St. Mary's batters.

Krissy Mackiewicz is now tied with Carrie Higdon with a team-leading seven stolen base, after stealing second in the third inning.
