WASHINGTON, DC- The George Washington University softball was defeated by Temple, 2-0, Saturday, at the Mount Vernon Softball Field. The Colonials fell to 11-20 on the season, 2-4 in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

The Owls got on the board quickly in the first inning and added an insurance run in the fifth.

The Colonials were unable to get the bats going against Temple starting pitcher Sarah Reynolds. Reynolds and the Owls fielders held GW to only three hits.

GW starter Amanda Gabriel worked all seven innings, allowing five hits, two runs (one earned), walked two and struck out seven. Gabriel has posted 124 strike outs on the season.

The Colonials host Saint Joesph's Sunday, at 12:00 p.m. for an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader at the Mount Vernon Softball Field.
