PHILADELPHIA - The George Washington softball squad dropped the final game of a three-game A-10 set at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon, 8-3.

The Colonials (26-23, 9-11 A-10) won the series after taking the first two games on Saturday. The road trip concluded a stretch of seven-consecutive away contests and marked the final road stint of the regular season.

The Hawks took an early lead with a run in the first before the Colonials tied it up in the second with the help of two errors.

SJU broke the game open in the bottom of the frame, scoring six runs with the help of an error. One more for the Hawks in the third finished the hosts scoring on the day for an 8-1 lead.

GW scored, again with the help of an error, in the fifth before the Colonials tallied their final run of the game in the seventh on three hits to put the final score at 8-3.

Freshmen Jenna Cone and Jessica Linquist each posted two hits to lead GW on the day.

The Colonials wrap the regular season next weekend as A-10 foe Rhode Island visits the GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon Campus for a three-game set beginning on Saturday.
