Softball Closes Fall Season With Three Victories

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University softball team was back in action this past weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9-10, at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex and the Colonials earned three victories in four games.

The Colonials split their doubleheader against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, falling 4-3 in game one, before blanking the Mount, 2-0, in the nightcap. On Sunday, George Washington served as host of the GW Fall Opener and shutout Catholic, 1-0, in its first game, followed by an 8-0 win over Villa Julie in six innings in game two.

With its three victories on the weekend, GW concludes its fall season with eight wins versus just four losses.

GW opens its 2005 campaign on Friday, Feb. 11, at the New Triangle Classic hosted by North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
