Softball Home Opener against UMBC Postponed to March 6

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University softball doubleheader vs. Maryland-Baltimore County has been postponed until Tuesday, March 6, at 1:00 pm. The decision to postpone was made due to poor field conditions as a result of the ice storm last weekend.

GW will host its annual Colonial Classic this weekend against Army, Canisius, Colgate and Longwood. The schedule for this weekend's games are as follows:

Friday, March 2
1:00 pm: GW vs. Army
3:00 pm: Colgate vs. GW


Saturday, March 3
9:00 am: Canisius vs. Colgate
11:00 am: GW vs. Canisius
1:00 pm: Colgate vs. Longwood
3:00 pm: Longwood vs. Army

Sunday, March 4
9:00 am: Army vs. Colgate
11:00 am: Canisius vs. Army
1:00 pm: Longwood vs. Canisius
3:00 pm: GW vs Longwood

The Colonials are off to the best start in program history after going 3-1 at the Mercer Classic in Macon, GA (Feb 23-25). Junior Hilary King (Canal Winchester, OH/Pickerington North) was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for her three home runs over the weekend.
