Softball Colonial Challenge Tournament Set for This Weekend

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University softball team announced it has rescheduled its Colonial Challenge Tournament for this Saturday and Sunday, March 5-6, at the Mount Vernon Softball Field. GW's annual tournament was canceled last weekend as a result of inclement weather.

The Colonials will welcome three of the four teams originally scheduled to play in last weekend's tournament. Colgate, Army and Manhattan return for this weekend, while Mount St. Mary's is unable to make a return trip due to a scheduling conflict.

Each team will play the other once and based on standings following the first six games, the top two seeds based on record will play for the championship at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The third-place game will follow the title game at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday
9:00 a.m. - Army vs. Manhattan
10:45 a.m. - GW vs. Colgate
12:30 p.m. - GW vs. Army
2:15 p.m. - Manhattan vs. Colgate

Sunday
9:00 a.m. - Colgate vs. Army
10:45 a.m. - GW vs. Manhattan
12:30 p.m. - #1 seed vs. #2 seed - Championship
2:15 p.m. - #3 seed vs. #4 seed - Third-place game
(Coin flip will determine home-visitor team each game)
