GW softball will welcome Princeton and Fairleigh Dickinson to the Mount Vernon Campus this weekend for its Colonial Classic.

The Colonials (9-7) are set for three games apiece against the Tigers and Knights at GW Softball Field in the event, which runs Friday through Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT: GW dropped four tight games against quality competition last weekend at the Carolina Classic.

Freshman Sierra Lange particularly shined in the pitching circle, compiling a 2.47 ERA over 17 innings in starts against No. 20 South Carolina, Marshall and Liberty.

Morgan Rinehart was the top hitter last week, going 8-for-14 (.571) in six games with a double, triple, two RBIs and five runs scored. The senior outfielder had hits in five of six games, including a combined 4-for-4 showing with a walk in last Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of Howard.

GREAT GLOVES: GW's .963 fielding percentage leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks among the top 100 clubs nationally. The Colonials have committed 16 total errors through 16 games. Sophomore Elena Shelepak has led the way, recording 77 putouts and five assists without a miscue.

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS: Seven different Colonials have hit home runs already this season, paced by three from sophomore Jenna Cone. They've combined for 11 long balls in all, which is tied with Fordham for the conference lead.

SCOUTING PRINCETON: The Tigers have won the past two Ivy League titles, including last spring when they advanced to the Tallahassee NCAA Regional. They opened their season last weekend with five losses at Grand Canyon's Lopes Up Classic. Princeton is led by Megan Donahey, Allison Harvey and Kaylee Grant, who were all-conference performers a year ago.

SCOUTING FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON: The Knights are 2-6 after a 9-4 win at Morgan State last Sunday. Reanna Cervantes is hitting .357 with five extra base hits through eight games, while Baylee Ports and Abby England have both picked up wins on the mound.

ON DECK: This event kicks off what is scheduled to be a 22-game homestand for the Colonials. They are slated for a home doubleheader next Wednesday, March 14, against UMBC before welcoming Lafayette, Brown and Siena for the Buff and Blue Challenge next weekend.
