COLLEGE PARK, MD - The George Washington University softball team doubleheader against Maryland today has been postponed until April 28 in a twilight non-conference doubleheader beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Robert E. Taylor Stadium.

Maryland (20-20, 5-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) leads the series over GW 7-8. The Colonials (12-25, 3-9 Atlantic 10) only victory came in 2006 as a 6-4 extra-inning win.

GW is led this season by junior pitcher Amanda Gabriel (7-13) in the circle; collecting 144 strikeouts in 130.1 innings pitched. Gabriel has also 15 complete games this season, five shy of her 20 complete games in 2008.

Sophomore Katie Terrazas leads the Colonials with her bat, hitting a team-high .269, with 29 hits and 15 runs batted in. Freshman Krissy Mackiewicz has taken a few for the team; getting plunked four times this season and has stolen eight bases.

The Colonials return to Atlantic 10 Conference play this weekend, when the team travels to play Massachusetts Friday, April 17, at 3:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 18, at 12:00. GW finishes the weekend with Sunday doubleheader at Rhode Island beginning at 12:00 p.m.
