No. 13 Women's Squash Drops Dickinson to Close Regular Season

WASHINGTON - The No. 13 George Washington women's squash team rebounded from a loss on Friday night to close the regular season with a 9-0 triumph over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

GW (7-8) now awaits seeding for the upcoming College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, which will be held from Feb. 24-26 at Princeton University. Opponents and brackets will be announced next week.

Friday - Drexel 6, GW 3

GW was upended by No. 16 Drexel, 6-3, in its home finale on Friday night.

Senior Breanne Flynn won the final home match of her career with a dominant 11-3, 11-7, 11-8 win over Ryan Morgan at the top of the ladder for her 10th win of the season.

Freshman Elle Carroll also picked up a sweep in her 11-1, 11-7, 11-7 triumph at No. 6. Sophomore Brooke Feldman provided GW's final win with a four-game victory at No. 9.

Saturday - GW 9, Dickinson 0

The Colonials came together to dominate homestanding Dickinson, 9-0, in the regular-season finale on Saturday. GW won eight of nine matches by way of sweep, with the Colonials combining to yield an impressive average of 3.6 points per game.

Flynn picked up her team-leading 11th win of the season and 49th of her career with her second sweep of the weekend at No. 1.

Freshman Engy El Mandouh and junior Mary Jo Mahfood both picked up wins to combine with Flynn for a sweep in the top-three positions on the ladder for the sixth time this season.

Junior Abby Shonrock blanked her opponent in the third game of an 11-5, 11-1, 11-0 win at No. 6.

Feldman completed a clean weekend with her second win in as many days, an 11-6, 11-6, 11-5 sweep at the No. 9 slot.
