HAVERFORD, PA - The George Washington University's women's squash team split its two matches Saturday afternoon in a tournament at Haverford, falling to Franklin & Marshall 8-1 and defeating the Fords 6-3.
The Colonials trailed 8-0 in its first match against the Diplomats when freshman Elaine Purcell prevented GW from getting swept by winning the final individual match 9-0, 9-0, 9-1.
GW pulled ahead 5-0 in its match against Haverford and held on to win 6-3.
The Colonials host Haverford on Saturday, Nov. 19, in GW's Health and Wellness Center. The match is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
