Nov. 15, 2008
WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington Women's Squash team opened their season with a 7-2 victory over rival Georgetown Friday afternoon at the Health and Wellness Center on the campus of George Washington University.
The top four players for the Colonials recorded wins and GW also got four wins from freshman making their collegiate debuts. It was a very strong showing for the group, who didn't face the Hoyas last season.
Head Coach Maura Myers was very pleased with the group's effort. "The 7-2 decisive win against a strong Georgetown team was a great start to our season," said Myers. "The depth the new players have added to our ladder has us excited for our next match."
The Colonials will return to action on Friday, December 5 when they travel to Middletown, CT to face off against Middlebury.
